According to Bloomberg-Beta GitHub :
“We are currently investing out of our first $75M fund and will soon begin investing out of our second fund of the same size. While we focus on areas broadly of interest to Bloomberg, we choose our investments independently, without preference for companies who have or want a relationship with Bloomberg. We invest for the financial return. We do see Bloomberg as a template for startups—founded on a powerful idea, bringing transparency to markets, achieving global scale, with a strong and open culture that embraces technology, led by its founders for decades.” “Bloomberg was one of the original technology startups when Michael Bloomberg founded the company in 1981, and we try to carry that spirit in Bloomberg Beta,” said Roy Bahat, head of Bloomberg Beta. “In our first fund, Bloomberg supported us in creating a different kind of venture fund. We built Bloomberg Beta to treat our founders like we treat Bloomberg’s customers, with great care, trust, transparency and a service driven by data. The revolutionary plan for our second fund is to just keep on doing exactly what we’ve been doing.”
This early stage venture capital firm Founded in 2013 added a new value to Bloomberg empire. Bloomberg Beta’s sophisticated team consists of Karin Klein head of investing activities at New York and east coast, James Cham is a Partner at Bloomberg Beta based in Palo Alto and Shivon Zilis at San Francisco focuses on machine intelligence.
